The Group Corporate Governance function includes three specialist teams: Compliance, Data Protection and Internal Audit. Our vision is to empower our business with clear and balanced compliance and governance frameworks, and expert support, that protects and safeguards all of our best interests, whilst still enabling creative and entrepreneurial freedom. The mission of the Group Compliance team is to collaborate at every level internally (and with experts where necessary) to identify and mitigate legal, regulatory and ethical compliance risks to ensure we operate a safe and lawful business and help protect Bauer Media Group and its shareholders from financial, reputational and other forms of harm.
We are searching for a diligent and professional Compliance Manager to join our dynamic new Group Compliance Team, to be based in our Corporate Headquarters in Hamburg.
Your responsibilities
You will be responsible for supporting the Chief Compliance Officer and the Group Compliance Team with designing and implementing policies, systems and procedures across Bauer Media Group to ensure we comply with all applicable legal regulations and best practice.
In this position, you will perform a range of duties including leading the every-day management of a number of key projects to establish core compliance systems, evaluating all current and new compliance regulations, reviewing company processes, and leading training sessions. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, responsible for liaising with a network of Compliance Partners across all of Bauer Media Group’s business in 14 territories.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the development and implementation of company policies.
- Oversee business operations relating to compliance including policies and procedures.
- Design and monitor control systems to deal with violations of legal rules and internal policies, in particular overseeing whistleblowing reporting and compliance with our Code of Conduct.
- Regularly assess the efficiency of control systems and recommend effective improvements.
- Review and evaluate company procedures and reports to identify hidden risks or common issues.
- Coordinate with a new network of Compliance Partners and different department managers to identify any issues and ensure implementation compliance policies.
- Design and lead employee training sessions on legal and compliance issues, and coordinate new e-training sessions with our internal HR teams.
- Provide adhoc compliance advice to the business relating to issues or project support.
Your profile
- Excellent working knowledge of English
- Bachelor’s degree in law, business administration, or other relevant compliance qualifications
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience as a compliance officer, compliance manager, or similar position
- Strong knowledge of corporate best practice for processes and key regulations
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities – must be able to work well with people from a variety of backgrounds, roles and locations
- An analytical mindset with excellent organizational skills – in particular, must be able to organise and manage multiple compliance projects across different businesses and territories
