Global Logistics and Trade Compliance Manager (m/w/d)
Your responsibility:
- You define, implement, maintain and improve export control policies and procedures (Trade Compliance program and organization for VAG group) and ensure all group divisions are following applicable export control regulations.
- You establish strong working relationships with management teams and cross-functionally across relevant teams in all sites worldwide.
- Overall group responsible for approving or rejecting individual cases when considering new projects or countries based on compliance risk assessment.
- You supervise the determination and maintenance of HTS/ECCN (or similar) classification and all other relevant master data within the system landscape.
- Compliance risk assessment and controls design. You conduct periodic audits, assessments, and reviews to ensure compliance.
- You apply for and manage export licenses and provide guidance on the interpretation and application of international Export laws and regulations.
- You gain full transparency of global logistics cost and related performance to identify optimization potential.
- You optimize global logistics in the Group and across the entire supply chain.
- You lead and coordinate initiatives to reduce overall global logistics cost.
Your profile:
- You hold a bachelor´s degree and minimum 5 years of global Export Controls and Trade Compliance experience, demonstrated in the design and development of programs, policies and practices in EU export controls. Prior experience in either a supply chain or distribution environment is of benefit.
- This position requires strong Trade Compliance skills and related systems knowledge based on experience and relevant continuing education and training.
- You have strong analytic skills and you are able to research and analyse data and synthesize results into actionable plans.
- Experience in management of and negotiation with TPL and global freight tenders demonstrated in previous roles.
- Excellent interpersonal and management skills are essential as you will be interacting with different business units, 3rd party and government officials.
- You have a Self-starting approach. Proactive, systematic, data driven and hands-on mentality with the ability to prioritize and work effectively.
- You have excellent verbal & written communication skills in English and German.
- You are adept in the use of MS Office and ideally you are familiar with SAP/BW.
